When Is Corn Not Good For Dogs?

Corn is not good for dogs with grain allergies. If your dog has been diagnosed with an allergy to corn or any other grain, it is best to slow down in giving him corn.

Secondly, when your dog feeds on corn from the cob. The cob is not an edible part of the corn. And when your dog eats directly from the cob, he may ingest some part of it.

This can lead to digestive problems like intestinal obstruction (a state of emergency). I’m sure you don’t want that.

Again, corn in its natural state is gluten-free. But you cannot give your dog raw corn because his digestive system is not wired to breakdown cellulose.

On the other hand, cooked or processed corn which you can feed your dog is not gluten-free. This can be a problem, especially where the corn is consumed in la

When serving your dog corn as a meal or treat, remember to be moderate.

The major nutrient contained in corn is carbohydrates, which is not the recommended primary source of energy for dogs.

Fat in meat is the best source of energy for dogs. You want to keep that in mind.
